The kids who are now headed back to school aren't the only ones who deserve new writing instruments and notebooks in which to record their thoughts.
I've listed some unusual finds below. Add your favorites!
Prince Controversy Record Album Notebook
Upcycled from a Prince record album, this notebook comes with blank white 100% recycled paper inside. Measures 8 1/2" x 11". Especially desirable if this album was current when you still marked time by end-of-class bells.

Pixel Colored Pencils
These stylish pencils are the best antidotes for a monochromatic world. Set includes 12 colors and one #2 pencil for scoring high on your SAT.

Yearbook Sticky Coverup
Back before Facebook, we had these neat things called Yearbooks. And somehow yours turned up in an antique store as a vintage fabric. We found your number one crush on page 18. It's that nerdy guy from your 10am Biology 101 Class. If only you hadn't given into peer pressure and ignored him. That "nerd" is now retired and living on his yacht.
Remember those days of note passing and shy glances by treating your Sticky Notes with the respect they deserve. Don't get caught in another Sticky situation! You know, like that time when Mr. Jones picked your note up and read it in front of THE WHOLE CLASS!

Start Here Linkable Lined Notebook
160 lined pages that open flat. Inside pages contain 30% recycled post-consumer fiber. Cover is stain resistant, waterproof, tear-resistant, 100% recyclable synthetic paper, easy to wipe clean. Available in blue, grey, white, pink, manila, and green.

Glow-in-the-Dark Oracle Pen
Each mildly disturbing pen is housed inside a 6-1/2" long, extra floppy, flesh-like rubber arm with a hand that cradles a glow-in-the-dark eyeball.

Great Ideas Bottle Journal
This fabric hardbound journal measures 6” x 9”. Each book consists of 100 sheets of 5.5” x 8.25” paper and comes with lined or blank paper.

The Ergonomic Evo Pen
If RSI is your problem, this pen may be a solution.

For the Record 1
Handbound journals with covers made from vintage LPs! Each is a place to record (sorry) your deepest thoughts, to-do lists, doodles or just about anything that's on your mind.

For the Record 2
These one-of-a-kind books are made from recycled records and their covers (on back). Each book contains roughly 80 pages of blank paper (standard refillable size), a date planner, as well as clear, see-through pockets for your loose notes, receipts, stamps etc. 1" ring clasps lets you re-fill your book with any kind of paper you want!

The Moleskine City Notebook
A special guidebook that's ideal for those who travel, whether to see the sights or for work, as a way of organizing your trip and to preserve it for your memory and your records. Also perfect for those who live there, as a way of organizing the things they know and need about the city they live in.

That new school supplies smell!
Nothing beats the start of a new school year. If you, like me, love the packs of #2 pencils and the Mead multi-subject notebooks but don't really need them with your Wacom tablet and MacPro, try this... Buy them like a fresh faced high-schooler and then give them to your local charity. In fact buy a couple of backpacks and fill them with your favorite school supplies. It feels good twice that way!
